New research methods for doctoral students

Coventry University

Helen was commissioned by the Doctoral College at Coventry University to provide three days of tailor-made teaching for staff and doctoral students in mid-2018. The topics requested were:

  • Qualitative Interviewing,
  • Qualitative Data Coding and Analysis, and
  • Documents as Data.

These were introductory courses, designed for people with a lot of research expertise but little or no experience of the specific topic. The courses were well attended and feedback was excellent.

The Programme Manager for Early, Middle and Senior Career Researchers at the Doctoral College, Kieran Fenby-Hulse, said,

“Helen provided a series of engaging sessions that introduced our researchers to new and innovative methods and methodologies. The sessions were well received by all and we look forward to working with Helen again.”
